Design
Vivid Wind believes the design portion of a project is generally the most important part of the development process. The design is what your visitors are going to be interacting with on a daily basis, so attention to detail is an absolute must. We will work together with you to design a website that will match your existing branding, be easy to use and navigate, and ultimately meet whatever goals you have indicated for your site.
XHTML/CSS
All custom sites that Vivid Wind creates from scratch are written with standards-compliant XHMTL. We test our code in numerous web browsers (typically as old as Internet Explorer 6) to ensure your web site is consistent for all your visitors. Our code is as clean as possible to ensure faster performance and better Search Engine rankings.
Javascript
Vivid Wind can write custom Javascript applications to enhance your visitor's experience. Although Javascript can be used for many different purposes, we believe it is most effective when it is used subtly and in small amounts. We can recommend ways in which Javascript may benefit your particular website.
PHP/MySQL
We generally use PHP in all of our websites as it makes for a smoother development and updating process. However, you may also need the ability to collect and store information from your visitors. If so, Vivid Wind can determine what method of storing data will be best for your needs. If a database is the best choice for you, your data will be stored securely and efficiently. We will also provide you a friendly interface for you to access and/or edit your data in whatever way you need.
Drupal
Drupal is arguably the most powerful open-source Content Management System (CMS) available today. A CMS is a pre-built system that allows you to edit the content of your site without having to know how to manipulate the actual code. You are able to edit your content through a friendly web interface similar to the way in which you would edit the content of a blog or a profile on a social networking site (e.g. Facebook). Having this functionality allows you to save the cost of making updates to the content of the site after it has launched.
Vivid Wind is experienced in customizing and theming Drupal. If you decide that a CMS will suit your goals well, Drupal can be an excellent choice. There are countless ways in which Vivid Wind can configure and customize Drupal to suit the needs of your site. Once again, because there can be so many options and directions to go, we believe early planning is the key to satisfaction.
WordPress
WordPress has become the most popular and user-friendly open-source blogging software. Blogging can be an excellent way to keep the content of your site active and fresh. When there are regular updates with interesting content, your visitors will come back to your site regularly to see what's new. You may want your blogging area to be a section of your site, or you may want your entire site to revolve around your blog. Either way, Vivid Wind can customize and integrate WordPress to fit your needs.
Pricing
At Vivid Wind we believe every website is different, with it's own custom and unique requirements. Therefore, we find creating "packages" at certain prices not only difficult, but limiting to you, the customer. Pricing can vary vastly depending on a number of different factors, such as the number of features a site requires, how much content there will be, among several other site/business-specific characteristics. Knowing your budgetary parameters is helpful to us in the estimation process, as we will make every attempt to find a quality solution that is affordable to you.
